Cafe Ekberg is one of Finland’s oldest bakeries. The bakery, patisserie and café have served customers since 1852 and the cafe is located on the atmospheric Bulevardi, near the Old Church of Helsinki. Ekberg’s atmosphere is warm and friendly and the interior is classic, just like their tasty products! They bake all of their breads and pastries every morning at the bakery-shop next door.

7. Robert’s Coffee Jugend

Robert’s Coffee Jugend is an Art Nouveau-style cafe with a huge hall that was designed by the renowned architect Lars Sonck in early 1900’s. In addition to the wide variety of freshly-roasted coffees and drinks on their menu, Robert’s Coffee serves delicious hand-made gelato that is produced in their own factory.

8. Cafe Engel

Cafe Engel boasts of a wonderful view of the Helsinki Cathedral. The cafe was named after the architect who designed many of the neo-classical buildings at Senate Square, including the cathedral. Situated within one of the oldest stone buildings in the city, this well-loved coffee shop also offers delicious breakfast and lunch options. In the summer, it is host to an outdoor movie theatre in its inner courtyard.

9. Cafe Carusel

Cafe Carusel is one of the best cafes in Helsinki, with a delightful view of the sea. Located near to the scenic Kaivopuisto park, this bakery-cafe is well-known for their fresh pastries, so you’ll have many to choose from! In summertime, you can take the ferry to Pihlajasaari island from the pier right next to the cafe. It’s only a 20-minute ride to this beautiful little island with sandy shores and rocky cliffs.
