Helsinki International Film Festival – Love & Anarchy 19.- 29.9.2019
Finland’s leading film festival, the Helsinki International Film Festival – Love & Anarchy, presents its 32nd edition in September 2019. Over the years, the 11-day event has established itself as the country’s top platform for new, daring and alternative cinema. HIFF is known and loved for its high-quality film programme and rich accompanying package of cinema-related events.
HIFF promotes the artistry of film-making with controversial and visually stunning new films. HIFF is the largest film festival in Finland with 500 screenings and over 60 000 admissions. The programme consists of around 160 feature films and 190 short films and popular events such as outdoor screenings, which will be held this year from September 6th to the 8th at Lasipalatsi Square.
Every year HIFF invites both established film-makers and fresh talents to speak about their films with both general audiences and industry professionals. In previous years the festival has had the honour of welcoming guests such as Spike Lee, Danny Boyle, John Woo, Gaspar Noé, Tilda Swinton, Baz Luhrmann, Lucile Hadžihalilović, Nicolas Winding Refn, Baz Luhrmann and Jacques Audiard.
The programme for the 32nd HIFF – Love & Anarchy will be announced on September 5th, 2019. The festival will be held from September 19th to the 29th, 2019. For more information visit www.hiff.fi.
