The 15th annual Helsinki Design Week starts today! Helsinki is known as a leading city of design, and the multidisciplinary festival celebrates Finnish design in areas such as fashion, architecture and urban culture, while examining contemporary issues. This year’s theme is ‘Learning Climate’.
Events
The main exhibitions will be held at Erottaja 2 (Erottajankatu 2, 00120 Helsinki), starting from September 6th. There are hundreds of events, most of which are free, including the Design Market and Children’s Design Week.

Design Market
Open on September 7th and 8th, the market will host the largest design stock sale in the Nordic countries. Here you can find affordably priced design items, including prototypes and off-season products.
Also added to the design market line-up this year is the Vinyl Market, which is being put on by WeJazz, a Helsinki-based record label.
The Design market will be held at the Cable Factory (Tallberginkatu 1) between 11:00 and 18:00.
Children’s Design Week
Children’s Design Week presents design exploration and workshops that are fun ways for kids to learn about and interact with design. The main event takes place on 14. – 15. 9, but there is a daily weekday program during the entire festival. Venue is at Annatalo (Annakatu 30, 00100 Helsinki).
